02 · Charter of Rights for a Child in Care — Confirmation

I have read the Charter of Rights for a Child in Care (MC-QLD-DOC-02, version 1.0) in full, I understand it, and I agree to uphold it. I understand that the Charter is set out in Schedule 1 of the Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld), that it belongs to the young person and cannot be varied by Mayim Care, and that I must tell every young person about it in a way they understand, give them a copy, and help them use it — including to complain about me. I understand that the Universal Principle for the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children applies alongside the Charter, and that cultural safety is judged by the young person and not by us. I understand that this form and my signature are a legal record kept on my personnel file.
